The survey, which covered 1,994 senior-level executives from 18 diverse markets, reveals a unanimous consensus on the importance of electrification.
What makes this particularly fascinating is the diverse range of countries represented, from established economies like Germany and the UK to emerging markets such as Kenya and Indonesia. Despite their differences, these businesses share a common goal and a pressing need for change.
The Drivers and Implications
The primary motivation for this shift is energy security. With 91% of business leaders believing that electrification improves energy security, it's clear that the instability in the oil and gas supply chain, particularly at the Strait of Hormuz, has had a profound impact. This instability has not only disrupted supply but has also highlighted the strategic vulnerabilities of relying on imported fossil fuels.
